Increase in men having Botox
Although still dominated by women, the proportion of men who are opting for cosmetic procedures such as Botox is increasing, it has been claimed.
Looking Good BuyAssociation reported that the "most marked" difference in the industry between now and four years ago is the popularity of non-invasive procedures.
Spokesperson for the consumer advisory firm Felicity Quigley explained that men are choosing to improve their appearance and the way they feel about themselves.
"It’s definitely about self-confidence People are doing it for themselves now, as much as they’re doing it for external reasons," she remarked.
The Daily Mail recently reported that despite a number of publicised concerns, the majority of dentists are being adequately trained to perform Botox.
David Bloom, president elect of the British Academy of Cosmetic Dentists, told the newspaper that dentists "have the skill, the dexterity and the knowledge of anatomy" to carryout the procedure.
