Huddersfield Man Shares Implant Treatment Story

A man from Huddersfield who travelled thousands of miles to get implant treatment has shared his story.

Samer Masoud decided to travel to Hungary for dental implant treatment after he was unable to afford the prices quoted for treatment at home in the UK. Mr Masoud needed 16 new teeth, but with the average cost of implant treatment in the UK pitched at around £2,000 per tooth, he knew he would never be able to afford the new teeth he so desperately needed.

After eight years of waiting for NHS treatment, Mr Masoud started to explore other options and became interested in clinics in Hungary, a very popular destination for dental tourists. He found that he was able to have the same treatment for less than £10,000 and decided to choose this option over the alternative, which was a set of dentures.

Dental tourism is becoming increasingly popular, with many patients from Western Europe, America and Australia seeking lower prices. Eastern European, South American and Asian countries offer cosmetic dental treatment at fees that are up to 80 per cent lower and patients are saving thousands of pounds even after they have taken travel and accommodation costs into account.

Founder of Dentafly, a dental tourism agency, Pratik Shah, said that there is a huge amount of interest in dental tourism in the Yorkshire area.
