Heywood gets two NHS dentists

Two new NHS dentists have set up shop in Heywood to help local patients.

The duo have been established in DHS Dental Practices Limited in Phoenix Centre as a component of a £1.3million scheme to improve local dentistry by NHS Heywood, Middleton and Rochdale (NHS HMR).

Around 4,000 NHS patients will be able to register with the practice and the first places will be given to those that are already on NHS dentistry waiting lists.

NHS HMR’s chair John Pierce said that the new practice would improve the oral health of people from Heywood called Phoenix Centre “excellent” and “state-of-the-art”.

The health service is also cultivating new dental projects in Middleton, Brimrod and Littleborough and two more NHS dentists are now practising at Nye Bevan House, Rochdale.
