Henley Dentist Gives Kids Something To Smile About

Members of staff from Wood Lane Dentistry in Henley-on-Thames helped to spread smiles last week, after inviting local schoolchildren to celebrate Smile Day.

Children from Year 4 at Sonning Common Primary School were invited to visit the practice, last Thursday to join in the celebrations. Smile Day is an annual event, which is designed to encourage many to properly maintain healthy teeth and gums.

During the day, children were invited to take part in a host of activities and fun interactive sessions to learn about oral hygiene, the teeth and gums and dental treatments. One of the most popular activities was using purple dye to identify areas of plaque and many of the children enjoyed making fillings using dental putty.

Vik Chugani, principal dentist at the practice, said that the surgery is committed to promoting preventative dental care and the team hopes that most of the children will not require any treatment as a result.

The practice has been hosting Smile Day for a number of years and it is a great opportunity for the children to learn about oral health and for the practice to engage with the local community.

The practice team would like to thank Reading dental laboratory and the Co-operative supermarket in Sonning Common for supporting the event.
