"From dull…to dazzling"

There is a common misconception that there is only so much a cosmetic dentist can do for a smile, it has been claimed.

Dr Tod Bigelow told HattiesburgAmerican.com that there is treatment for a wide range of problems, from missing, crooked or gapped teeth.

Dental implants can replace between one tooth and a mouthful of teeth, he added, whereas veneers, crowns or bridges can straighten and whiten teeth.

The cost of the treatment can vary depending on the extent of the problem, Dr Bigelow claimed, as some work takes just a couple of hours whereas some can take months.

"It is an investment in your appearance," he said. "Over many years of usefulness, it usually costs just pennies per day.

"Much less than contact lenses, nail maintenance, a cigarette habit or even a monthly hairstyle."

New York dentist Daniel Noor recently warned Dental Office Magazine that unattractive teeth can be a sign of unhealthy teeth as over 90 per cent of systemic conditions display symptoms in the mouth.ADNFCR-1374-ID-18581252-ADNFCR
