If you fancy getting checked-out you can visit the unit any day next week.
The mobile clinic will begin operating Monday 16 November 2009 at Freshwater Moa Place car park, then it will be station at the Town Hall in East Cowes the day after, and thenit will be found in Ryde at Somerfield on Wednesday.
To finish of its journey the dental unit will visit Ventnor Winter Gardens park on Thursday and St James’s Square in Newport on Friday.
Around 8,000 cases of oral cancer are diagnosed each year.
Janet Cuoghi, of the NHS team involved in the scheme, said that islanders needed to protect themselves against oral cancer and added that it was important that people frequently checked their mouths.
She told patients who had noticed any abnormal changes in their mouths to visit their GP or dentist immediately.
