Free clinic adds dentistry to its repertoire
A free clinic in Wisconsin is looking to branch out into dentistry.
The Chippewa Valley Free Clinic wants to add dental services to its repertoire to improve oral health standards in the region.
Brent Hafele, executive director at the clinic, said that free dental care was much needed around Chippewa Valley, with 60 per cent of low-income people in need of treatment.
The clinic is now applying for a series of national grants to fund the free dental clinic, which will be the first in west Wisconsin.
If proposals are accepted the clinic could be provided with more than $800,000 for dental services over a three-year period.
The funding decision will be announced in January 2010 and everyone in Chippewa Valley has their fingers crossed.
