A grandmother sank false teeth into a robber who was trying to steel money she had collected for charity.
Maisie Chapman, 82 from Belfast, fought off two burglars who broke into her house on Saturday 14 November 2009.
One man pushed the pensioner over onto a bed and held his hand over her mouth but Mrs Chapman fought him off by biting, punching and kicking him before attacking the other burglar with a bible and a brush. You go girl!
The thieves were discovered at 4:30pm when Mrs Chapman awoke from napping in her living room.
They claimed to be plain-clothes policemen who were investigating string burglaries in the area. How did the come up with that story?
Mrs Chapman noticed that there was a light on upstairs and discovered one of the men ransacking her bedroom. He found money she had raised for missionaries that look after street children.
She said that the thieves had asked for more so she attacked one of them with her feet, fists and dentures before laying into the other with a brush.
The pensioner added that the duo weren’t very good burglars because they didn’t manage to intimidate her and one of them was shaking like a leaf.
When the police arrived Mrs Chapman refused to get in an ambulance as she said that she wanted to go to church as normal.
