Dundee Dental Nurse Bids Farewell to Colleagues and Patients After 40+ Years

Fiona Hunter got a send-off to remember on her last day at the Integrated Oral Care department. She had already been treated to a series of pranks before her final shift and was greeted with the sight of her car plastered with post-it notes as she left the hospital for the last time.

Lauren Valentine, a colleague, said that the team had great fun thinking up jokes to play on Fiona as her last days approached and they saved the best prank until last. She has given so much to so many over her incredible career and the team wanted to celebrate her last day in style.

Fellow nurse Avril Stewart said that Fiona has devoted her time and attention to working at the hospital and she has been a valuable member of the team who will be sorely missed.

Fiona joined the hospital in 1974 and spent 42 years working at the Integrated Oral Care department. The hospital has expanded over the years and she has seen major changes to dental techniques and advances in treatments.

Her colleagues organised a gathering for her last day and she left laden with cards and gifts.
