Digital dentistry, the way of the future
An American dental clinic is now using digital technology to make surgery easier for its patients.
Maplewood Laser Dental Clinic, based in Wichita Falls, has done away with bad tasting teeth-moulds, gagging and pain thanks to a two new machines.
The clinic uses now has a machine that can make a digital impression of your teeth using photos.
Dr Richard Guess claimed that the laser scan machine reduces distortions in the images, which has eliminated inaccuracies – meaning less time in the chair for patients.
So if you’re in need of a crown, pictures are just sent to a laboratory via email by your dentist and your crown will be made in less time with less mess.
The laser-loving clinic hasn’t stopped there either, it is now using state-of-the-art equipment to beam gum disease away from teeth.
Patients that have laser treatments for gum disease no longer need neither painful surgery nor a long recovery period.
Biopsies, cold sore cures, burst blood vessel removal and cold sensitivity elimination can all be performed with the laser machine.
Dr Guess said that clinic was happy that it was saving patients time, reducing dental pain and expanding on the number of conditions they could treat.
