Devon Dental practice teams up with hypnotherapist
A dental practice in Devon has teamed-up with a hypnotherapist to help treat their nervous, anxious and phobic patients. The Riverview Dental practice, in Totnes, Devon, is utilising the services of hypnotherapist Chris Fleet in order to help those patients who are scared and nervous about visiting the dentist. Dental phobia is an issue that is being increasingly addressed by dental clinics, and Riverview Dental is taking a unique approach.
Chris Fleet, a member of the General Hypnotherapy Register and also a member of the International Stress Managers Association, will work with the clinic alongside other treatments and options to provide an all round comforting service. Dr. Andrew Pickering, a dentists at the clinic, was quoted as saying; ‘Even though pain-free dentistry is at the core of our practice philosophy, I understand that some patients still experience anxiety about dental appointments.’ He then continued, ‘We want to offer solutions to people including sedation and working with Chris to help them overcome their fears.’
