Dentistry in Derbyshire

Sample News Big

At a meeting to find out why the Derbyshire County Primary Care Trust (PCT) at the multi-million pound centre, is not being used to its fullest potential. Visitors reported empty treatment rooms as well as a lack of dental services in the region. During the meeting, councillors will ask questions, and receive responses to, pre-submitted questions about what services are currently offered to individuals residing in this area. Topics will consist of what the PCT did in the past to create possible interest from dental practices, and if out-of-hours emergency dental services are being offered. Also, will there be different fees charged if private dentist are practicing alongside NHS dentists? Is the PCT practicing dental screening in primary and secondary schools?  Is the facility being used for new surgeries if practices in the area are full? At last, the PCT extended their hours to accommodate walk-in patients, so that they do not need to seek treatment of minor injuries at Burton’s Queen’s Hospital’s accident and emergency department. The meeting participants are hopeful that collaboration can occur for a promising future for healthcare in South Derbyshire.
