Dentist wins UK entrepreneur award

A dentist has won the UK’s consumer services entrepreneur of the year award.
Dr James Hull was presented the award by Joanna Lumley at a lavish ceremony in the Hilton Hotel, in Hyde Park, London.
The award recognised Dr Hull’s achievement of building a huge dental empire. He currently owns over 80 dental surgeries. 
He first became a partner a dental practice in 1986 in Bassaleg, Newport, 6 and his company now employs more than 300 dentists.
BBC News reports that Dr Hull, of Usk, Monmouthshire, said he did not expect his company James Hull Associates to beat so many huge companies.
The doctor added that he was really unprepared when his name was read out.
Dr Hull claims to have founded the business to bring affordable health care to people no to make a huge profit. 
He said that even in the early 90s he could see that the NHS was not working, which got him think about affordable private treatment.
The judges from Ernst and Young accountants highlighted Dr Hull’s ethical business model as a reason for winning the award, saying it struck a balance between customer value and profitability.
