The Cornish dental mechanic, Luis Fairman, who designed the infamous steel denture worn by the giant actor in two bond films during the seventies has paid tribute to his friend after his passing on Wednesday. The actor suffered from a rare medical condition which gave him pronounced bones and extremely tall height.

Speaking from his Bodmin Dental Lab in Cornwall, he plans to watch the films in honour of the iconic actor who passed away recently at his home in California.

The pair met a few times during Bond tribute events and the actor often joked with him about the teeth being uncomfortable. He also stated that his passing was sad and mentioned that the actor was truly larger than life.

The first appearance of the famous frightening steel teeth constructed by Mr Fairman, occurred in the 1977 James Bond classic, The Spy Who Loved Me.

His last major film role occurred as a voice actor in the film Tangled (2010), in which he played a ceramic unicorn collecting giant named Vladimir.
