Dental supplies bound for Haiti

Sample News Big

A new shipment of dental supplies has been sent to Haiti in conjunction with the Oral Health of Haiti Coalition (OHOH).

The shipment, which was sent last week, is a sign that oral health is finally being recognised as an important aspect of general health and well-being. Since the earthquake hit Haiti on January 12th, thousands of people have lost their lives and thousands more have been displaced, injured or orphaned. Soon after the earthquake struck Port-au-Prince, the OHOH Coalition set about trying to secure dental materials, products and resources, to help the people affected by the disaster.

The shipment sent last week marks the culmination of months of planning and coordinating and people in Haiti will now be used to help the people who are really in need.

The Oral Health of Haiti Coalition is made up of a number of different organisations and individuals, including academics, representatives from NGOs, the DTA, the Alpha Omega Foundation and the NYU School of Dentistry.

The Coalition will continue to work to provide resources and materials for the people of Haiti.
