Dental professionals' help required for research

Dental professionals' help required for researchDental professionals are being called upon to take part in a survey by Dentistry.co.uk and two industry magazines.

The research will focus on treatment fees charged by dental practices and professionals are asked to fill in a questionnaire available on the Dentistry.co.uk website.

Once all the data has been compiled and the findings released, dentists will have a better idea of how much rival practices are charging their patients.

"The information will be presented as both a national and a regional average, so not only will you gain an accurate picture of what practices local to you are charging, but also for those a little further afield," states Dentistry.co.uk.

Answers to the questions will be kept confidential and all entries received with contact details will qualify for a prize draw.

Prizes include tickets to the World Aesthetic Congress, which is one of the world's largest aesthetic dentistry events.

In related news, almost £200,000 in unpaid dental fees has been collected by a special fraud unit in Northern Ireland. The outstanding amounts go back to 2004.
