Dental Nurse Swapping Kendal For Casablanca To Help Children

Sample News Big

A dental nurse is preparing to swap Kendal for Casablanca to help orphaned children.

Becky Whitwell, from Sandes Avenue Dental Practice, is visiting Morocco as part of a project organised by the charity, Dentaid. She will fly to Casablanca before heading out to the remote villages around El Jadida.

During her trip Becky will be assisting at mobile dental clinics and visiting schools and orphanages to provide basic dental care for children and hand out toothbrushes and toothpaste.

Becky has been working as a dental nurse for five years and is very excited about the challenges that await her; she has always been eager to participate in charity work and to use her skills to help others and she is now working hard to raise £1,300 to pay for equipment, which is needed for the portable surgeries.

The team is hoping to see 60 patients per day and will be working with Operation Smile Morocco before relocating to the rural villages.

A donation of just £3 will enable a dentist to remove an infected tooth and with each dentist planning to see 60 patients per day, the money raised will make a huge difference.
