Dental implants 'maintain youthful look'

Dental implants are essential to maintain a youthful appearance when a person is missing a tooth, it has been claimed.

According to news provider Bestsyndication.com, there are three types of dental implants and which is best for an individual depends on their jaw measurements and bone density.

Root form implants are small titanium cylinders around which the bone will grow. Plate form implants are narrower and flat to fit inside a narrower jaw. Superiosteal implants are used for less dense bones and are placed underneath the gums.

"To keep your youthful look it’s a good idea to have a dental implant so that you then have a complete new tooth, not just the visible part of a new tooth," the website reports.

It advises that cosmetic dentists will ensure the procedure is pain-free and that bones can fully heal in up to six months.
