Dental clinic makes $30k saving thanks to the environment.

Thanks to a green initiative, a Pennsylvania dental company has saved itself around $30,000.

Delta Dental, whose head quarters if based in Mechanicsburg, decided to stop using disposable cups which saving it an annual sum of $30,000. 

The company has also retrofitted its light fixtures, which saved it a further $29,000 in energy costs.

Sustainable business consultants, iReuse helped Delta Dental develop to its company environmental program, which also includes waste reduction, recycling measures and certifications designed for sustainable businesses, such as Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design and Energy Star.

Companies affiliated with Delta Dental saved $167,000 by reducing the use of paper, using an electronic report system and eliminating all other printed items.
