Dental clinic hosts food drive
A New Jersey dental practice is hosting a food drive to help disadvantaged local people.
Better Image Dentistry is a long-term devotee to the Somerset County’s Food Bank Network (FBN) and is now inviting people to join the cause and donate what they can.
Dr Drew Fairweather, head of the Better Image team, is urging people to donate anything including food, clothes and toiletries.
The FBN donates food and provides emergency assistance to many people at its pantries in North Plainfield, Somerville and Bound Brook, Somerville. It distributes around 14,000 shopping bags of food each year.
The network also helps people with the cost of prescription drugs and utility aid and hands out warm clothes to homeless people.
This year the FBN is asking people to donated canned meats in particular as well as things like, tuna, tinned pasta, soups, canned fruit and vegetables but stated any donation would be gratefully accepted.
If you would like to join the cause donate goods at Somerset Medical Commons, Bridgewater, 201 Union Avenue, Building 2, Suite A-1 at any time on Monday 30 November 2009. For more information call 908-722-7901.
