A dental chain has revealed plans to open up ten new dental practices, creating more than one hundred jobs in the North.

Smiles Dental already has 80 private dental practices across the UK and is expecting to open ten new practices within the Leeds and Liverpool areas. The company announced plans to expand in the near future and although the exact locations of the new clinics have not yet been revealed, it is anticipated that the Liverpool-Leeds corridor will be targeted.

Smiles Dental plans to open the ten clinics over the course of the next 18 months and it is hoped that the expansion will create around 150 new jobs. Currently the Smiles Dental surgeries are located in Northwich and Manchester.

Chief executive of Smiles Dental, Emmet O’Neill, said that it is very exciting to be expanding in the North and creating new jobs in the region. He added that the goal was to provide “affordable, first-class dentistry to all and to continue the growth and development of the business in the future.”

Mr O’Neill founded Smiles Dental in 2005 after noticing that there was a gap in the market for tooth whitening services in Dublin. Shortly after opening the new clinic, he decided to branch out into general dental services and the business has expanded rapidly since.
