Crowborough dental practice saved by new owners

A dental practice, which was facing an uncertain future, has been saved by new owners.

The practice, which was run by LDDC Ltd, only opened last year on the Jarvis Brook’s industrial estate but staff were facing an uncertain future after the company was liquidated in December as a result of financial problems. Members of staff said that Christmas was “fraught” and claimed that they were worried about not being paid and even losing their jobs.

The Crowborough practice serves around 3,000 patients in the area and a new management company has taken over; Southern Dental has taken charge and the practice has been renamed Crowborough Dental Care Ltd. Southern Dental already owns thirty dental practices in the South East.

The new practice will predominantly focus on NHS services and appointments will be available at the weekends. The practice will now work alongside NHS East Sussex Downs and Weald.

Operations manager Sara Hitchens said that the team of staff is now looking forward to working with local people and providing an excellent service for patients. The staff have all stayed on at the practice and are looking forward to working with the new managers.
