Crewe Nursery Children Enjoy a Visit From the Dentist

Sample News Big

Nursery children in Crewe were treated to a visit from the dentist this week as part of a project to try and encourage young children to develop positive oral hygiene habits.

Children at Kidsunlimited learned all about the importance of brushing their teeth and taking good care of their gums when a local dentist from Dane Bank Dental Practice paid them a visit. The children took part in fun and informal activities, using puppets and giant models of teeth to learn about the importance of oral hygiene and healthy eating.

The children were encouraged to ask questions and everyone was given a pack containing a brush, toothpaste and timer to help them brush effectively at home.

Dane Bank Dental Practice aims to promote preventative measures and the dental team is happy to visit local schools and meet children eager to learn more about their teeth and find out what it’s like to go to the dentist and how their diet affects their teeth and gums.

The visit was great fun for the kids as well as being an important learning opportunity and everyone left raring to get home and put their brushing kit into action.

Deputy manager of the nursery, Nicola Harvey, said the children really enjoyed the session and learned a lot. She also extended a big thank you to Dane Bank Dental Practice.
