A dental team from Crewe has plenty to smile about after scooping two awards at the Dental Awards.

The team from The Old Surgery Dental Practice beat off tough competition to land the title of Team of the Year at the annual Purple Media Solutions Dental Awards. Practice manager Lisa Bainham was also crowned Practice Manager of the Year at the lavish awards ceremony, which was held at Birmingham’s Hilton Metrople Hotel. The event was hosted by TV personality and comedienne Jo Caulfield.

Practice partner Steve Lomas said the awards represent recognition for 18 years of hard work and commitment to providing the people of Crewe and beyond with first-class dentistry. Steve praised the dedication of his team and said that nobody is more deserving of an award than Lisa Bainham, the practice manager.

The awards took place alongside the annual Dental Show and 17 gongs were given out that night. This year’s lifetime achievement award, which is usually given to an individual in recognition of their devotion to dentistry, was presented to a team from Nottinghamshire. Last July, the team from Treeline Dental Care came to the rescue of a 51 year old man who collapsed outside the surgery. Their rapid response saved the life of Tony Gross. The team worked together to use a defibrillator to resuscitate Tony three times.
