Cosmetic dentists ‘should put patients at ease’
Choosing the right cosmetic dentist is an integral aspect of improving a smile, it has been claimed.
San Diego dentist Dr James Lowe said that the most important thing to do is ensure the professional has the training and experience relevant to the required treatment.
He reported that as the cosmetic dental industry is constantly changing and innovating, an ideal dentist will have trained at a reputable institute.
In addition to this, Dr Lowe added that any good cosmetic dentist will be able to show examples of work they have done, such as before and after photos.
Patients were also advised to only choose a dentist they felt completely at ease with during the initial consultation and not feel bullied into procedures.
"If you aren’t comfortable describing what you want, your dentist cannot give you the quality of treatment you need and deserve," Dr Lowe explained.
January is allegedly the busiest time for teeth whitening and Botox treatments, reported by the Daily Mail.
The newspaper cites figures from Transform Cosmetic Surgery which revealed that internet queries for the treatments reached a record high on the first Monday back to work after the Christmas holiday.
