Cosmetic dentistry firm links up with uni

Cosmetic dentistry firm links up with uniFlorida Atlantic University (FAU) has forged a long-term relationship with SmileXpress, the largest teeth whitening dental spa in Florida.

The spa, which has clinics in Boca Raton, Fort Lauderdale and Wellington, has agreed to invest $1.25 million over the next decade to help finance the university's athletics department and the creation of a 30,000 seat football stadium.

"This FAU and SmileXpress relationship began as a sponsorship. They have grown into a donor and are now helping the entire university and its community," said Craig Angelos, FAU's athletics director.

SmileXpress, which has spas open every day of the week, aims to complete each teeth whitening treatment in less than an hour.

In fact, Beall Research & Training of Chicago believes that teeth whitening can significantly help improve a person's appearance.

A survey carried out by the firm on behalf of the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry (AACD) revealed that a 'new' smile makes a person look more attractive, more intelligent and happier - in that order.

"We've been telling people that a beautiful smile was a great investment in their futures. Now we have independent evidence," said a spokesman for the AACD.
