Cosmetic dentistry 'better than a facelift'

Cosmetic dentistry is replacing the facelift as the ultimate makeover procedure, it has been claimed.

According to Dr Daniel J Deutsch of the Washington Centre for Dentistry, many patients seek a smile makeover as the first step in their anti-ageing quest.

"Our patients are not accepting the ageing process, when it comes to their teeth," Dr Deutsch remarked. "Unlike in the past, patients get to a certain point and they know that we can literally turn back the clock when it comes to their smile."

He claimed that one of his recent patients complained that no matter how youthful her skin looked, she cannot really appear young if her smile is old.

She reportedly added that a smile makeover can actually do more for an ageing face than a facelift.

Dr Deutsch said that he gave her ten new veneers to correct her old-looking teeth.
