Cornish Pupils get a Lesson in Oral Hygiene

Sample News Big

Cornish pupils were given a lesson in oral hygiene earlier this week, thanks to one of the school mums.

Tracy Davies, a mum at the school and a dental hygienist and therapist, visited children at Connor Downs Primary School to talk about oral hygiene, how to brush your teeth and how to reduce the risk of tooth decay.

Tracy spoke to the children about the effects of drinking lots of fizzy drinks and eating sweets and explained why it is important to brush the teeth properly and visit the dentist for a check-up on a regular basis.

Tracy said that she was very happy to visit the school and spend time talking to the children about oral health. She added that the session was great fun and hoped that the children would use the information to take good care of their teeth and gums.

Anne Weeks, class teacher at the school, said that the session Tracy organised for the children was a real success and the kids had great fun, as well as learning about a very important issue.

The visit was organised as part of National Smile Month, the British Dental Health Foundation’s annual campaign to promote oral health issues. The campaign will run until June 20th.
