The Chairman of Christchurch Charity Hospital Trust has announced that the hospital will expand. Executives have purchased an adjacent site and dental services and an endoscopy service will now be available.

Philip Bagshaw, Chairman of the Trust, confirmed that the hospital will expand to offer free acute dental treatment and currently, the hospital provides non-urgent medical care for people who cannot afford private treatment and consultations for cases that are not serious enough to be seen by medical staff working in the public system.

Recently, the hospital also started providing a counselling service for people who were affected by the Christchurch earthquake. The counselling service will continue to run, as it has made a huge difference to local people and is considered a very valuable service.

Representatives from the trust have announced that they have purchased the adjacent building to the hospital for $440,000. The trust will be able to provide dental services thanks to an agreement with Canterbury Dental Association. The new property will enable the hospital to offer dental services, as well as an endoscopy service.
