A dental receptionist from Bottisham, Cambridgeshire, has successfully completed a fiercely demanding bike ride in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support.

Tracy Husband, from Bottisham Dental Practice, successfully cycled more than 106 miles in the Ipswich Cycle Swarm to raise more than £400 for the cancer charity. Tracy powered through the pain to complete the course in 5 hours 56 minutes without a single stop and was delighted and proud when the finish line came into sight.

Tracy said that she was thrilled to be able to hand over more than £400 to the charity, which makes such a difference to thousands of people affected by cancer in the UK.

The ride was the longest course Tracy has ever attempted and she was excited to take on the challenge. Although it was physically and mentally tough and she didn’t enjoy cycling for so long on her own, she has caught the cycling bug and is already planning her next charity ride. Tracy has already entered the ballot for next year’s Prudential Ride London race and she has become obsessed with cycling, taking her bike out after work whatever the weather.

Tracy thanked all her relatives and friends, as well as patients and colleagues, for their donations. She also thanked Denplan for their generous support.
