Bupa Seals Dental Corporation Deal

Bupa has confirmed the acquisition of Australia and New Zealand’s largest dental chain, Dental Corporation.

Bupa has sealed a deal to buy all shares in the company for a sum of more than £244 million. Dental Corporation runs more than 190 clinics in Australia and New Zealand and employs more than 560 dentists. Bupa will also pay around £48 million to management staff and dentists over the next three years.

In July, Bupa announced increased investment in UK business; the company revealed that it would be investing millions of pounds to expand its dental business from 11 clinics to more than 60 dental centres across the country.

Dean Holden, managing director of Bupa Australia and New Zealand, said that the news was very exciting and added that he is looking forward to working with the management staff and dentists from Dental Corporation.

Bupa already provides dental care to thousands of people in countries all over the world and this latest acquisition is a sign of the firm’s ambition to expand and improve dental care services for clients.

Bupa has also announced further investment in its Spanish business; around £70 million has been invested to increase the number of clinics in the country to 200 by the year 2014.
