Bowling Green Dental Clinic Offers Free Dentistry

A dental clinic in Bowling Green, Kentucky, will be providing free dentistry on Friday to mark the 5th annual Smiles From the Heart.

Dentists at Chandler Park Dental Care will be offering free dental care from 7am until 4pm, and will be joined by other dentists from the area as part of the Smiles From the Heart campaign.

The clinic’s dentist, Dr Eli Jackson, started Smiles from the Heart in 2011 in a bid to help those who struggle to afford dental treatment.

Dr Jackson says that the staff at Chandler Park understand that tough times can make dental care difficult to prioritise, and that many people have been unable to get the treatment they need. Their message for Friday is simply ‘come in, let us help you’.

Office administrator for the practice, Mary Duke, says that the staff believe in the importance of giving back to the community. She acknowledges that there are a lot of people who cannot afford dental treatment, so it tends to get neglected.

This Friday, patients will be able to choose one service out of the following: teeth cleaning, filling or tooth removal. Duke explains that these are typically the treatments patients are most in need of. All patients must be over 18 and not pregnant, and will be seen on a first come, first served basis.

Duke recommends that patients arrive as early as they can, as in past years people have started to queue outside the practice as early as 5am.
