Bourne End Dentists to Offer Free Mouth Cancer Screening in November

Sample News Big

A dental practice in Bourne End is encouraging local people to drop in for a free oral cancer screening check this month as part of a national campaign to raise awareness of the deadly disease.

Bourne End Dental, which is located in Station Road, will be hosting free screening sessions every Thursday throughout the month of November to support Mouth Cancer Action Month and raise awareness of mouth cancer. Each year in the UK, more than 6,000 cases of mouth cancer are diagnosed, yet many people are still unaware of the warning signs and causes. Screening is a way of getting people talking about mouth cancer and enabling dentists to use the latest technology to spot the very early signs of oral cancer.

Screening will be available between 2pm and 3pm every Thursday and appointments are available to all. Simply call 01628 523353 to make an appointment or find our more.

The dental team is encouraging everyone to back the campaign, which runs under the slogan, ‘if in doubt, get checked out’. Screening is quick and painless, but it can save lives.

The main symptoms to look out for include abnormal swelling or lumps, white or red patches in the mouth and mouth ulcers or sores that take an abnormal amount of time to heal.
