Botox and the city

Botox is becoming so prominent it has even been featured as a storyline in the new Sex and the City film.

Reported by USA Today, the movie includes Samantha urging Carrie to have Botox injections to keep looking young.

Sarah Jessica Parker, who plays Carrie, explained that she does not use the treatment herself.

"It’s such a strange time in our culture," she said. "If you do it, you're strung up in the town square. If you don't do it, they tell you you look old."

Her co-star Kim Cattrall, who plays Botox lover Samantha in the film, has been open about her use of the anti-ageing injections.

She famously said that she does not believe in marriage but does believe in Botox and told the Times that she relies on the treatment to get rid of the big crease between her eyebrows.

However, she added that she would not go through with cosmetic surgery because she is too scared of not recognising herself in the mirror.
