Sample News Big

Teeth whitening treatments are the second-most popular non-surgical cosmetic enhancements in the new year, it has been claimed.

According to figures from Transform Cosmetic Surgery, Botox is the favourite January treatment, followed by desires for whiter and brighter teeth and laser hair removal, reports the Daily Mail.

Shami Choudhry, spokesperson for the firm, told the newspaper that web-based inquiries reached a record amount on the first Monday at work after the Christmas holiday.

"January is always busy," commented Dr Dai Davies of Reform Surgical. "It’s a case of ‘new year, new me’. People often take the opportunity to do something they have been planning for a long time."

Sally Taber of the Independent Healthcare Advisory Services recently told BBC One’s Breakfast programme that the Botox industry needs greater regulation as demand for it in the UK grows.

David Bloom, president elect of the British Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, has previously told the Daily Mail that dentists are adequately trained to perform the procedure due to the nature of the treatment.ADNFCR-1374-ID-18425378-ADNFCR
