Boardroom professionals 'choosing Botox'

Boardroom professionals 'choosing Botox'Male office executives are having Botox injections, not only to delay the signs of ageing, but to look more poker-faced in the boardroom, it has been claimed.

The Daily Telegraph cites figures from Transform cosmetic surgery group which reveal that a fifth of all patients are now male and from the Harley Medical Group which claims that 45 per cent of its non-surgical treatment patients are men.

According to the newspaper, the injections contain botulinum toxin-A which reduces the elasticity in the forehead, making patients look more inscrutable.

"Men want a strong image and this is a subtle way of getting rid of that exhausted or angry look," commented Simon Withey of the London Plastic Surgery Associates. "I treat plenty of City types who want to look younger."

Music mogul Simon Cowell recently claimed that having Botox was no more unusual than using toothpaste.

The 48-year-old told Glamour magazine that yearly injections are successful at reducing the signs of ageing.ADNFCR-1374-ID-18529922-ADNFCR
