Baby Boom at Wirral Dental Practice as Six New Babies Expected This Year

Sample News Big

There must be something in the water at Moreton Dental Care in the Wirral, as six members of staff are set to be on maternity leave at the same time.

Three babies have already been born this year, with another three new additions expected before the end of July. Soon, a third of the entire staff team will be on maternity leave.

Dental hygienist Stephanie Farrell welcomed Henry to the world in February, while dental nurses Kerry Bailey and Jennie Thorpe gave birth to Oliver and Evie respectively. Now, dental nurses Beckie Warren, Suzy Roberts and Gemma Barnes are in the final stages of their pregnancies.

Principal dentist Dr Paul Sherrard said that it’s a “challenging situation” for employers, but extremely positive news for the staff members and a very exciting time for the practice. Dr Sherrard said that he appreciates the importance of family and the practice has tried to be as flexible and adaptable as possible to allow members of staff to return to work on a part-time basis after their leave. Everyone at the clinic is excited to meet the new additions and there have already been a few visits and lots of cuddles.

Dr Sherrard said that the record previous to this year was 2 maternity leaves over-lapping, but this year has definitely been a record breaker with six staff members off at the same time.
