Ashford Orthodontics Opens New State of the Art Dental Lab in Southwick
Ashford Orthodontics has opened a brand new, state of the art dental laboratory in Southwick. The company has relocated its base from Sunniside to take advantage of larger premises.
Demand for business has increased in recent years and the new space gives the firm scope to expand further in the future. The new facility was officially opened by deputy leader of Sunderland City Council Harry Trueman.
The new 6,000 square foot laboratory features cutting edge technology, which will help the firm to grow its business both in the UK and overseas.
Director Sean Thompson said that everyone at the company is proud to represent Sunderland. He said it’s an honour to be able to show Councillor Trueman around and show him how the business works, giving people an insight into what the future holds.
Since 2014, the laboratory has almost doubled in size and the new centre enables further growth. Mr Thompson suggested that the firm will be looking to recruit new members of staff over the course of the next twelve months. The company has recently recruited four apprentices from Sunderland College and Mr Thompson is hoping to work with more local colleges to provide opportunities for youngsters in the future.
The firm has only been running for fifteen years and since its establishment, it has recorded growth year on year. Councillor Trueman said that the future looks bright for Ashford Orthodontics and praised the firm’s ambition and commitment to investing in the local area.
