Police have alerted members of the public and issued a warning after twenty cartridges of anaesthetic were stolen from a dental practice in Glasgow.

Twenty cartridges of the anaesthetic, Lignocaine Hydrochloride were stolen from the Dental Studio on Victoria Road in the south of the city during the New Year break. The robbery took place sometime between the 31st December and the 5th January. Other dental products, as well as a number of video games, were also taken during the raid.

Police have warned that using the anaesthetic could have “dangerous repercussions” and advised the thieves to return the drugs. The drugs are powerful anaesthetic that should only be used by trained professionals under strict supervision.

Police are now appealing to members of the public to come forward with any information about the robbery; anyone who knows anything about the incident should contact Strathclyde Police.
