Amendment to Dental Act could bring more dental tourists to Malaysia

The Malaysian Government are in the latter stages of making an amendment to the Dental Act, which will help to attract more dental tourists to the country.

The amendment will allow Malaysian dentists to advertise their services to attract foreign clients to Malaysia. Health Minister, Seri Liow Tiong, said that there was huge potential for growth in this market, as more and more people are choosing to go abroad for dental treatment.

Malaysia is already a popular destination for medical tourism. It rates amongst the top five destinations for medical tourism, with people travelling thousands of miles to save money and benefit from world class facilities. Health ministers are now hoping to replicate this success in the dental industry.

Dental tourism is becoming increasingly popular, as more people look to save money on dental treatment. Asia is already a popular destination for tourists from Australia and New Zealand and dentists in Malaysia are hoping to attract patients from around the world.

The Health Minister expects the amendment to be passed this year.
