An ambitious young dentist has plenty to smile about after taking over an established practice in the south of Belfast.
Dr Seamus Kennedy has recently taken the reins of Malone Dental, after securing funding from First Trust Bank. Dr Kennedy, 29, has taken over ownership of the practice from Dr Maria McElhom.
Dr Kennedy has grand plans for the surgery, which is located on Malone Road, and he is already planning to extend the range of services. A new treatment list will boast the latest in facial aesthetics, as well as dental implants, cosmetic treatments and modern tooth alignment systems.
The practice, which currently employs ten members of staff, serves approximately 4,000 patients in the south of the city and Dr Kennedy said that he is excited to get going and to introduce patients to brand new services. The clinic will continue to provide both NHS and private dental treatments, but patients will also have access to fillers and anti-wrinkle treatments, in addition to orthodontics and innovative cosmetic solutions.
Having always wanted to run his own practice, Dr Kennedy said that he was “delighted” when the opportunity at Malone Dental became available. He described the practice as “well-respected” and added that he was looking forward to building on its reputation.
Joanne Earley, business manager at First Trust Bank, suggested that Seamus had already conducted extensive research before approaching the bank about the prospect of acquiring Malone Dental, and his ambitions were clear to see. The bank is excited to be supporting a dedicated and driven dentist and a reputable, prosperous local business.
