Alabama woman suffers dental nightmare after getting fake Halloween fangs stuck on her teeth

A woman from Alabama suffered a dental nightmare after attending a Halloween party at the weekend. Anna Tew ended up paying a visit to the emergency dentist after some false fangs she bought to complete her spooky zombie outfit became lodged on her teeth.

Anna bought the fake teeth for around $3, and for several hours, they served their purpose without any problems, complementing her zombie ensemble and making her look suitably scary. The problems started when Anna, from Mobile County, returned home and tried to remove the fangs. Anna found that the plastic teeth, which she had applied with glue supplied by the manufacturer, wouldn’t budge. She struggled for a while, trying to prise them away from her gums and teeth, but eventually gave in and had to contact an emergency dentist.

Speaking to a local radio station, Anna said that she was terrified when her dentist started talking about drilling and sawing the false teeth off in sections. Dr John Murphy, from Alabama Family Dental, removed Anna’s teeth the day after the party. He explained that some people are more likely to get accessories like Halloween fags stuck, due to the natural shape of the gums and the state of the teeth. In light of Anna’s horror story, Dr Murphy advised anyone who is thinking of using dental props or accessories to consult their dentist first.

Texas dentist, Dr Craig Armstrong, encouraged party-goers to choose false teeth that don’t require adhesive.
