Free dental screening for kids in Redding, California

Sample News Big

The Shasta Healthy Smiles Oral Health Program is providing free dental screening for children aged between 0 and 5 in Redding, California.

Children in Shasta County are invited to attend the free screening, which will take place on Tuesday 9th August between 10am and 2pm at the Shasta Family Justice Center on Market Street.

Children will receive free examinations, as well as fluoride varnish treatments, which are used to protect and strengthen the teeth. The examinations count as kindergarten dental assessments, which are required according to Assembly Bill 1433.

Many children in Shasta County do not receive regular dental care, as access to affordable care is limited. Dentists advise parents to take children for regular check-ups to prevent decay and reduce the risk of premature tooth loss.

The screening sessions are funded by First 5 Shasta.
