Risks of re-doing veneers

Does anyone know how high the risks are in re-doing veneers? My story is, I had two veneers placed to replace fillings/composite bonding on my two front teeth at the advice of my dentist. The shape looked great but they were the wrong colour so the dentist agreed to drill them off and re-do them. The new ones are the correct colour but the shape is awful, too thick, too long, and generally feel uncomfortable and the worst thing is a few days a go one fell off. The dentist has re-glued it but I'm now too nervous too eat, drink or do anything in case they fall off again! I am planning to get them re-done at a reputable comsmetic dentist but my worry is that as that will be the 3rd time is there a substantial risk of an infected nerve? Or regardless of the risks is getting them re-done the only choice I have anyway because otherwise they will keep falling off?

Most people can still have crowns even if there teeth are not suitable for veneers
I would get a second opinion, your veneers should not be falling off.

The risks involved mainly relate to the removal of extra tooth tissue
that will inevitably result when any restoration is removed. Whilst this
can be quite minimal their will always be some extra tissue removed.
However it sounds as if the veneers may not be that well bonded and at
this time this may work in your favour. The best bond strengths are
achieved by bonding to enamel and ideally veneers should not involve
preparation into dentine. If the veneers are too bulky or the wrong
shape it MAY be possible to recontour them but this requires a lot of
skill and achieving a satisfactory polish after this can be difficult.
Whilst there is a potential risk of bacterial contamination this is
minimized by well fitting temporaries to protect the teeth whilst the
permanent veneers are being made.
