Default Help

I live in London and I am desparate need of a smile makeover. I have discoloured front teeth which I've had since I was a child, I think it was caused by too much fluoride in tap water. In addition I have a gap at the front.

I don't know where to go from here, I really need some advice on what work should be carried out and which cosmetic dentistry clinics are the best. I would also like to have an idea of what it'll cost to have my problems fixed.

Could someone please get back to me on this? Your help would be very much appreciated.

Hi Lily. I'll send you some information in a private message in a moment. Its difficult to say how much treatment will cost as we don't know what needs to be done.

With regards to treatment options whitening will not be good for you. If there is discolouration due to fluoride, whitening has very little effect and can make the problem worse. There is a treatment option available known as chemo-microabrasion which will often lift the discoloured areas where fluoride is the cause

I hope this helps

Kindest regards

HI Lily,

Discolouration of teeth can be treated by:
- professional teeth whitening (zoom whitening and/or home trays) done at the dentist- if the discolouration is mild
- veneers - if the discolouration is more pronounced

Gaps in between teeth can be treated as follow:
- braces - invisible or fixed
- veneers - if the gap is small

Costs vary:
- one high quality veneer can cost from £500 upwards
- teeth whitening can start from £300 upwards
- braces can start from £2000 to 5000 depending on whether you are having fixed or invisible braces

It is obviously very difficult to say what treatment is most suitable for you without having seen your mouth.

I'll send you a private message shortly

Hope this helps

Kind Regards

Raha
