Hi guys,

I am a 19 year old male and I cracked the tooth next to my front tooth a couple of years ago. When it was first cracked it was cracked from behind and it also cracked the front tooth, creating a circle-like tinge to the 2 teeth.

I didn't get it fixed straight away because I was going through a bad period of anxiety so wasn't up to going to see the dentist. I just left it as it never bothered me but now I wish I had it fixed straight away.

Over the past few months I have noticed tiny bits of tooth come away from the crack and it has a black tinge to it now. It looks more black than it is on the picture because it is just a hole straight through but there is a bit of jagged tooth near the bottom of it.

I am going to see my dentist on monday, however I'm worried that the tooth might have to be extracted. I am already very self aware of my teeth because they are by no means perfect so I really don't want an extraction as it'd look more horrible than it does now!

Do you think I would get away with a filling? I really don't want root canal or an extraction.
