having second thoughts...!

for years I have not been satisfied about my smile... Even though it was aligned but i never felt content.
I went to several dentist but none of them recommended or suggested any change, But I kept looking for other solutions..
few months ago , I went to another orthodontist and he suggested teeth reduction and I was finally relived.
the treatment plan was to wear braces for couple of mounths until the teeth move a little bit and then the orthodontist will be able to reduce the size of the teeth and that was abosltly fine with me.
I did what i had do; consultation, googling...etc

In my next appointment i 'll have my teeth size reduced .Now,i dont know for what reason I got a little bit scared of the whole process. i think because I 'll have gaps between my teeth due to the striping. Obviously, i am afraid that it will affect the way i look ; i am not sure if i can go to work with such teeth?

My questions are: is it a normal procedure to reduce teeth size? how dangerous it could be ?
If not ,how ugly the striping will look like?

I think the stripping is done gradually

Interproximal reduction or stripping between the teeth is a way to
create small amounts of space to align teeth. It is used with all forms
of braces from removable spring aligners such as the Inman aligner, to
hard aligners such as invisalign and even fixed braces. This tooth
reduction is very minor and so should be very conservative and not
visible to the naked eye. The reduction can be a considered a normal
part of orthodontic treatment and as long as the reduction is confined
to enamel there will be no long term consequences . I would advise
discussing this with your orthodontist
