Treatment for overcrowding and narrow jaw

Hi, I'm new and trying to find out about a treatment for overcrowding in a ten year old, she has a very narrow jaw more of a v shape than the usual arch. at the moment her two front teeth have the second ones directly behind them rather than side by side this is on both upper and lower jaw. our NHS dentist says she will have to wait till she is fourteen to have extractions done, is this the only option? she suffers from headaches and lack of concentration since the teath have come through and it is affecting her schooling now, so if we could get somthing done sooner it would be great!

It is very difficult to say what treatment is required without looking at the mouth, especially in this case, as she is still very young. You could go for a second opinion or see a specialist orthodontist, who is the best person to answer your question.

I suspect she'll probably have to wait until she is a bit older and has more of her adult teeth through to receive any treatment.
