Orthodontics in the US

Hi there,

I was wondering if anybody has any information about having orthodontic treatment in the USA.
I am moving from the UK to Los Angeles in a few months time, but have been planning to get braces in the UK.
But even though I will probably be able to return to the UK every 3 months or so, I am thinking it would be best just to wait and get braces from an American orthodontist.

I have been quoted £3000, for the white fixed braces with white wires, here I the UK.
Does anybody know how orthodontists compare in the USA and how much this treatment would likely cost? Also, is there a good source to go to, to find a good orthodontist in Los Angeles?
