Question Deep filling pains?

Hi everyone, just found this site while looking for answers!

Basically I just had a deep filling in my top right wisdom tooth, and still in pain 5 days later, my dentist said he might have hit the nerve and to call back if I am still in pain later, what does this mean?? will it just die down after a week or so or is it likely to just get worse? the other filling i had done stopped hurting by the next day, only thing that seems to stop this pain however is JD and i cant drink that 24/7!

cheers.

Jez
